Muna Malik is a multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, California, originally from Sanaa, Yemen. Her work delves into themes of history, gender, popular culture, social justice, politics, and identity, offering a compelling exploration of the human experience. Employing a diverse range of mediums—including painting, sculpture, film, and large-scale public art—Malik creates dynamic works that resonate across cultures and communities.
She has exhibited her work internationally, with notable shows in London, Los Angeles, and New York. Her practice has earned recognition from prestigious institutions and publications such as The New York Times, LA Times, Vogue, Artforum, i-D Magazine, the Parrish Art Museum, the Annenberg Center for Photography, the International Center of Photography (ICP), and MOCA Geffen.
Malik has exhibited with Tanya Bonakdar Gallery and is preparing for a solo exhibition with Suzanne Vielmetter in 2025. In 2023, she unveiled a large-scale interactive sculpture in Battery Park City, New York.
